Tekapo Trip

On Wednesday 27th August Waimate Centennial School went to Tekapo. When we got there we hopped off the bus. Mr Jury talked to us and then the juniors went on the ice skating rink first and Ruma Kea, Ruma Weka, and Ruma Kakapo went in the spa pools. They were so warm that we didn’t want to get out of the pools. Then it was our turn on the ice and it was the juniors turn to go in the hot spa pools. When Mrs. Soper was on the ice skating rink with the juniors she broke her ankle on the ice. I really enjoyed the trip. It was cool.

Seth's Tekapo Trip

On the 26th of August the whole of Centennial School went to Tekapo on three buses. We had to pack our bags and drive to school. Then we had to go into class, go to the toilet and then we got some string to play with. Mrs Albrey called out the roll. We went to sit on the mat so we could listen to the teacher easier. The teacher asked if every body had gone to the toilet. Then we went to the buses. For awhile we had our bags ready and they were sitting beside us. Then Mr Burt clapped and we all turned around and listened to him. We got on the buses, sat with our buddies and the bus started to go. After awhile we got there. We got changed into our swimming togs and we jumped into the hot pools. Then we got out and went to the ice skating rink and then we left. I liked the ice skating the best but the hot pools were fun too.

Awesome Tekapo Trip

On August 26th 2009 Centennial School went ice skating and in the hot pools at Tekapo.
First Ruma Kea went swimming in the hot pools, then ice skating. The younger kids went ice skating first, and then they went in the hot pools. I swam with Cassidy & Zoe. I gave them piggy back rides.
When I went ice-skating I had awesome fun. I fell over 10 times. It was hard at first but after I practised it made it easy.

Ice Skating Trip to Tekapo

On the 26th of August the whole of Centennial School went ice skating.
Mrs. Soper had an accident and broke her ankle. Everyone went as fast as cheetahs. Some people needed the frame to skate along the ice. I taught Jordan Wood how to ice skate. I fell over 22 times and it did not hurt.

On the 16th of August 2009 Waimate Centennial School went to Tekapo. On the way there I sat with Cody. We travelled with Ruma Pukeko. When we got there Ruma Kea, Ruma Weka and Ruma Kakapo went in the hot pools and Ruma Pukeko, Ruma Kiwi and Ruma Tui went ice-skating. In the hot pools I hung out with Kit and Liam. After we were finished in the hot pools we got changed and had our lunch. After we had had our lunch we all went and got our ice skates and went ice-skating. My favourite bit was racing Kit and Liam. I went faster than Kit on a frame.

Tekapo

On the 26th of August the whole school went to Tekapo. There were three buses that went to Tekapo. Ruma Kea sat with Ruma Pukeko. I was with June on the way there and Tayla on the way back. All the three buses stopped at Fairlie for a toilet stop and some fresh air. When we got to Tekapo we all got our bags and things and went over to Mr. Jury. Then Mr. Jury said that the juniors were going ice skating first and the seniors were going in the hot pools. Then the middle school went to the hot pools. They were really nice and warm. After that we had lunch .Just before the seniors went ice skating Mrs. Soper had a nasty fall and broke her ankle. When we went ice skating I only fell over on the edge but only once. Then it was time to get our skates off and leave. We all got on the bus and the three buses were off. When we left Tayla and I only just noticed that we were sitting in front of Mrs.Albrey. I had a great time at ice skating and I hope we go again!

Tekapo

On the 26th of August all of Centennial School went to Tekapo to go ice skating and to go in the hot pools. It was really loud in the bus and a really bumpy ride to Tekapo. Finally we got there and the person who was sitting beside me said, “We are finally here. I am so hot because the fans don’t work on this bus. I just want to get out of this bus.” We got off the bus and listened to Mr. Jury. After he had finished we walked up the hard steps. We went and got our togs on and went in the hot pools. We were in there for one hour and then we got out of the hot pools and got dressed. We all walked to the rink, got ice skates and put them on. We went straight on the ice skating rink. We were on there for an hour and had a lot of fun. We all got off the rink and took our skates off and got our shoes on. We had to walk all the way back to the buses and left. It was a really fast trip back and I really liked the whole trip to and from Tekapo.

Tekapo Trip

On the 26th of August Centennial School went to Tekapo. The younger children went to the ice skating rink and the older children went in the hot pools first. Mrs Soper fell over when she was ice skating and broke her ankle, and ended up having to go in an ambulance to hospital. When the older children were in the hot pools the water tasted like salt but after a while you got used to it. When we were ice skating I had to use one of the frames to help me ice skate and I had so much fun. On the way home we played with our string and made things with them.

We had one hour in the hot pools. I played with Isacc and Nic in the hot pools. After an hour we got into our warm clothes. My warm clothes were a rugby top and black pants. After that we had lunch and then we went ice skating. I only fell down 2 times. Mrs Soper fell down and broke her ankle. She had to go to the Timaru Hospital. Everybody except Mrs Soper had a great time!

Tekapo Trip

On August the 26th Waimate Centennial School went to Tekapo. We all had a go in the hot pools & ice-skating. The hot pools were up first for the middle school and ice-skating was for the juniors. When we were in the hot pools Ella, June and I were giving each other piggy back rides .
Then it was time to ice-skate! When I went on the ice my feet scared me but I didn’t fall over! On the way back I sat right at the back of the bus. It was a long trip but in the end I think everyone enjoyed it!

Going to Tekapo!

On August 26th 2009 Waimate Centennial School went to Tekapo and went ice skating and hot pooling. The seniors had to go swimming first because the little kids would get cold if they went ice skating last. We had our play lunch before we went swimming. I had a choc rainbow bar and a small sandwich. When it was time to go to the hot pools we had to get our togs on and bring our towels out and dump them on the chairs. Jessie May, Tandia and I kept on changing from pool to pool. We were only allowed in two pools because one was for the adults. We were in the hot pools for about an hour.
When we got to the ice skating rink we had to have our lunch and then we got on the ice. The little kids went on their way to the hot pools. I played on the ice with Tandia and kept on losing her so I played with Zoe for a while. Zoe and I played tag and it was really hard because we would both be zooming around on the ice. Hannah and Darren were getting photos taken by a photographer who works at the Timaru Herald. Megan and Ella kept on giving each other piggy back rides in the hot pools. We had to leave at about quarter past two. We got back at about quarter past four.

Tekapo Trip

On the 26th of August Centennial School went to Tekapo to go ice skating and to go for a swim in the hot pools. First Kiwi, Tui and Pukeko went ice skating and Kea, Kakapo and Weka went for a dip in the hot pools. The hot pools were as hot as boiling water.
After going in the hot pools we went and had lunch by the ice skating rink. Then we went and got our skates on so we could go on the ice. The ice was as freezing as snow. After going for a skate we hopped on to the bus and drove home. The drive home wasn’t as long as the drive up to Tekapo.
It was a fantastic day and I hope we go again next year.

Tekapo Trip

On Wednesday the 26th of August Centennial School went up to Tekapo. We hired three big buses and it was a long trip up there but it was worth it. When we got up there Mr. Jury told us what we were going to do first. The senior school went in the hot pools first while the juniors went ice skating. We went and jumped into our togs and ran out to the hot pools. We soaked in the pools for a while and then we got out and had lunch. We watched the little kids ice skate, and to tell you the truth, they were really good.
After lunch we grabbed our skates and jumped on the ice. At first I wasn’t too good but then I got the hang of it. I fell over lots of times. The first time I fell over I banged my hip and it really hurt but I got over it. There were lots of kids with frames but I didn’t need one because I could skate really well.
We were skating for quite a while and then we had to get off the ice. We took off our skates, jumped on the bus and headed for home.
Next year I think we all really want to go again because it was fun.

Mrs. Rehmann went extra fast and then Mrs. Soper went to hospital in the ambulance because she broke her ankle.. Then we went back to Waimate Centennial School. We all had a really good time.

Trip to Tekapo

On the 26th of August Centennial School travelled to Tekapo in three buses. It was such a long trip up there and it was so stuffy in the bus. Later on we were finally there. The seniors were first to have a dip in the hot pools. There was a warm pool and a hot one. Then after a while we went ice-skating. I was pretty good and I did not need to use a frame. I had a really fun time.

Centennial School Trip to Tekapo

On the 26th of August 2009 Waimate Centennial School went to Tekapo. Ruma Kea went up there with Ruma Pukeko and I sat with Kit on the way up.
First the older children went in the hot pools and the younger children went ice-skating. In the hot pools it was hot and I hung out with Jerry and Kit. Then we got changed, and after that we had lunch. We went ice-skating which was my favourite bit. On the frame I went faster than Kit. The New Zealand Herald person was there and I’m going to be in the paper.
On the way home I wanted to go to sleep but Jerry didn’t let me because he was being a meanie.
I liked that day - it was my favourite school day ever.

When Centennial School went to Tekapo for Ice Skating and for the Hot Pools.

It was the 26th of August 2009 when Waimate Centennial School went to Tekapo. The school paid some money and we paid the rest.
All of the Centennial children gave the bus drivers their bags which went in the luggage areas down the side. When the buses drove off some of the Centennial kids had a long piece of string for string games in case they got bored.
When the buses reached Tekapo we hopped off and we walked up the steps and up the path to the front doors. After we waited in line a person gave us an orange bracelet each to wear in the hot pools. The seniors walked to the changing rooms and got changed into their togs. The juniors walked to the ice skating rink to skate. Now back to the seniors.
The seniors walked to the hot pools and swam for one hour. Then we had lunch. After we got ice skates we walked to the ice and skated. Then we ran to the buses and headed home. We couldn’t wait to tell our parents!

Tekapo

On Wednesday the 26th of August Waimate Centennial School went to Tekapo on a school trip. The school went in the hot pools first and the juniors went ice-skating. When I got into the hot pool it was boiling and I got really hot.
After the hot pools we had lunch and then we went ice-skating. It was very cold but I didn’t mind it. I didn’t fall over much but that was because I was holding on to the edge the whole time! Afterwards we went home. It was a really fun trip and I would like to go again.

Ice Skating at Tekapo

On August the 26th the whole of Centennial School went ice-skating and swimming in the hotpools at Tekapo. It took a long time to get there but when we finally did the year fours, fives and sixes went in the hotpools while the year ones, twos and threes went ice-skating. The hotpools were really nice and there were two that anyone could go in, and one that was just for adults. The bottom pool (the pools were in layers) had little water fountain sort of things around the edges. I liked being in the hotpools but I wish that we'd gone ice-skating first so that we didn't get so cold at the end. After the hotpools we watched the juniors ice-skating while we had lunch. Just before I got my ice-skates Mrs Soper fell over and broke her ankle! After that I got some ice-skates from the skate office and went on the ice. I fell down a lot but finally I got a frame and with that I managed to get the hang of it so gave my frame away to someone else. The trip back seemed longer than the trip there and when we finally got back I was so tired but it was a great trip and I liked it a lot. I hope that we go again next year.

Going to Tekapo

Last week the whole school went to Tekapo. We went in the hot pools and went on the ice skating rink. I got to sit with all of my friends on the bus. The best thing about the hot pools was how hot they were and the best thing about the ice skating rink was playing on the frames because you could drift around the corners. The whole school had a lot of fun. I really hope we can go next year.

Tekapo Ice-skating Trip

On the 26th of August Waimate Centennial School went to Tekapo. The school travelled in three buses. Ruma Tui and Ruma Kakapo went in one, Ruma Weka and Ruma Kiwi went in another and Ruma Kea and Ruma Pukeko went in the last bus.
When we got there we all had morning tea. After morning tea the juniors went ice-skating and the seniors went to the hotpools. When we hopped into the hotpools they were boiling but after awhile we got used to it. I did a lot of handstands in the pool and it was a lot of fun.
After we got out of the hotpools we had lunch and then we swapped over. The juniors went to the hotpools and the seniors went ice-skating. It was freezing when we got on the ice.
Afterwards we went home on the bus.
It was a really fun trip and I want to go again next year.
