Civil Defence

A few days ago Karen Buchanan from civil defence came to talk to the class about what you need to do in an emergency [tornado…]. Some of the equipment we need to have is fresh water, a torch and pet food just incase you want to take your pet to somewhere safe. Some of us used a generator to make hot water for cups of tea. Remo also used a gas cooker to boil some more water, and then she gave us a worksheet/quiz to test our memory. After that Max fired up the solar powered torch/radio. She also got people to come up to solve things like if a tsunami hit, what equipment would you need to help you survive. We got to take home a civil defence bag and a sheet of paper that reminds us what we need to do and what equipment we need. We both had an awesome time!!! by Max and Danny
