My foot was numb and I could taste blood. I had just
crashed on powder [soft snow] and I hit the side of an icy slope. My snowboard
was approximately three feet away. I could not reach it. I was terrified
because I had broken my toe and my tooth poked through my lip. I crawled to my
snowboard and got on, my foot stinging. I zoomed down the mountain and reached
the finish.
My dad asked, “How was that?” but then he realized
what had happened.
